What is the job?

Power Electrics is the largest generator specialist in the South, providing standby and emergency power to meet the demands of a wide variety of applications and sectors.

We are looking for a proactive and organised HR Assistant to provide administrative support to our HR team.

What will you be doing in this role

  • Manage the recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, liaising with agencies, logging applications using the recruitment planner, preparing recruitment files for interviewing managers etc. Liaising with recruiting managers at all depots to arrange interviews and booking of interview rooms.
  • Conducting HR inductions for new employees and right to work checks.
  • Recording of staff holidays on a daily basis.
  • Set up and maintain HR & Training records for all employees (manual and electronic) ensuring all records are complete and all information held is up to date.
  • Produce and issue training certificates as needed.
  • Production and distribution of weekly timesheets to Line Managers in relevant departments.
  • Support the HR team on any other ad hoc matters relating to the HR Department.
  • Provide Reception Cover.
  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are kept tidy.
  • Comply with all aspects of the company quality, environmental management, H&S and energy management standards (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 50001:2018) and occupational health and safety management best practice, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.

Skills and requirement

  • Possess a strong understanding of HR procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of IT, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other bespoke HR IS databases.
  • Good organisational and communication skills. 
  • Have the ability to be proactive and work under your own initiative; working as part of a small team is essential to the smooth running of the HR and Training function.
  • Discretion and confidentiality are key attributes for this position.
